I've retouched the colors a bit, fixed the poles and the seams. Jupiter has no bump, since it is generally just a big ball of gas. Like the other gas giants, Jupiter is a bit oblate — wider than it is tall — so be sure to reduce the height of your sphere by 95% to 90% to get the correct "look". Unlike other planet renderings, Jupiter and the other gas giants benefit a bit from a lowered light contrast setting.

New: March 30, 2006

NASA released a new high resolution composite map of Jupiter. This represents the most detailed view of the planet ever, captured by the Cassini probe and meticulously assembled into a large map. How can I improve on NASA's handiwork? Well, I retouched the blank areas in the centers of the polar maps and used them to fix the top and bottom of the cylindrical map. I also removed a stray blue pixel from the Great Red Spot. I present this map in a variety of sizes, free of charge.

Cassini's view of Jupiter in 4 delicious sizes. The 6K version is compressed with JPEG 2K, which should be openable in the latest version of Photoshop. If you have an older version, here is a link to a free JPEG 2K plugin:
